SUMMARY:Artistic Expressions: Let’s get Crafty! -Part One
DESCRIPTION:Participants will get to create their own sculptures in a two-part class series. In the first part\, participants will make their own creations out of white air-dry clay. Each participant will get 8 ounces of clay to work with\, leaving their finished pieces to dry at the MHI office. By participating in this class\, participants will work on their hand-eye coordination\, engage in creative thinking and problem solving\, and visit with their peers.

SUMMARY:Cooking Class – French Toast
DESCRIPTION:Participant will practice their cooking skills by helping make French Toast. They will review the steps before starting the cooking process\, gather and measure ingredients\, and clean-up directions. Participant will get to taste their finished product and take home a copy of the step-by-step recipe (including clean-up directions) if wanted. This will enable the individual to be better equipped for independently using the griddle or skillet to make breakfast.

SUMMARY:Funday Monday – West Bay Common School Children’s Museum
DESCRIPTION:Participants will bring 1898 history to life by touring and participating in activities at the West Bay Common School Children’s Museum. This one room schoolhouse was built in 1894. You will have a history lesson using lap slates\, listen to a player piano while dancing\, participate in 1890 outdoor games like hoop and stick\, receive a well pump lesson\, and explore the life and times of this town through a display of artifacts and exhibits. Participants will learn about the history of their community while socializing with their peers.
