SUMMARY:Living Well in the Community – Healthy Reactions
DESCRIPTION:Mounting Horizons (MHI) will present Living Well in the Community (LWC) Peer Supported workshops about setting and working on quality-of-life goals. Healthy Reactions is Week 4 of 11. Experiencing setbacks and obstacles is a normal part of working to achieve quality of life goals\, but it is also frustrating. Learning to react to problems in a healthy way can reduce frustration when the path ahead becomes difficult. With MHI Facilitator support\, in this session participants explore how they can change their thoughts to reduce the frustration they may feel\, and how healthy reactions to problems can help them stay motivated.

SUMMARY:Living Well in the Community – Staying on Course
DESCRIPTION:Mounting Horizons (MHI) will present Living Well in the Community (LWC) Peer Supported workshops about setting and working on quality-of-life goals. Staying on Course is Week 5 of 11. This session acknowledges that no one can eliminate all feelings of stress and frustration\, but that we can guard ourselves against becoming discouraged and giving up on our goals. Discouragement can come from outside and inside ourselves\, and so can encouragement. With MHI Facilitator support\, Staying on Course helps participants recognize those outer and inner voices that either discourage or encourage them\, and identifying what stress management techniques help them stay on track towards their goals.
