DESCRIPTION:Youth at Clear Brook HS will dive into another game as a group\, called Adulting 101\, where they will get to practice skills such as: budgeting for one’s needs\, picking a career based off of interests and expenses\, and other daily living tasks that might be required of them in the future as independent adults. By practicing these skills in a fun format with their peers\, participants will have increased knowledge and understanding of what adult responsibilities outside of a school setting look like and be better prepared for setting up goals for their own futures with their loved ones. \n

SUMMARY:Youth Transition Program – Exploring Life After High School I
DESCRIPTION:Youth at Clear Brook HS will get to dive into a game called the “College Fit” game\, where they get to see what it is like to make decisions on vocational goals after high school\, navigate the process of going to college for further education\, and the types of careers they could receive with a degree. By participating in the game\, participants will get hands on experience with implementing SMART goals in a fun format and be able to explore interests and new ideas relating to possible future choices for themselves.

SUMMARY:Youth Transition Program – Structuring our Goals
DESCRIPTION:Youth from Clear Brook HS and Clear Falls HS will learn how to take a goal and break it down into manageable steps. We’ll walk through a sample SMART goal\, collaborating as a group to determine the steps needed to accomplish the goal. The group will work together to draw\, write\, and discuss for each sample goal a reasonable time frame and the steps required to achieve the desired outcome of the example goals. By breaking down the steps of sample goals together as a group\, participants will have increased confidence and capacity in breaking down their own collective and individual goals as students.

SUMMARY:Youth Transition Program – Navigating Your Options
DESCRIPTION:Young adults from various high schools will hear from a variety of presenters from local colleges that are disability friendly and from other youth active in internships\, to help them make informed decisions about their path after high school. Also present will be Volunteer Coordinators from multiple community organizations that often have young adult volunteers\, to help those individuals navigate non-career focused options. By presenting in this event\, participant will have increased confidence in preparing for their future after high school.

SUMMARY:Youth Transition Program – Preparing for Life after High School
DESCRIPTION:Young adults from various high schools will engage in a game that will allow them to practice navigating postsecondary options such as:  apprenticeships\, trade schools\, and colleges that could prepare them for future jobs/careers. Consumer will briefly review how their communication passport can be used as a tool for self-advocacy when requesting accommodations in post-secondary spaces. We will also discuss options such as internships and volunteering and how those can also be ways to increase one’s skills and prepare young adults for future work or other goals. By participating in this training\, the consumer will have increased confidence in navigating their choices after they graduate high school.
