MHI offers consumers resources and training to improve their employability skills and with finding and maintaining employment. Consumers receive one-on-one skills training and can participate in workshops on topics such as resume writing, career exploration, and interviewing skills.

Employment is a critical part of community inclusion for both people with disabilities and older adults. Securing and maintaining employment helps many people to achieve independence in their communities, but there are often barriers to accessing meaningful and integrated employment.

Finding Your Career Path

Finding Your Path (FYP) is a program focused on career development, employment preparation, transportation training, independence, and community integration, as well as building motivation and self-esteem. This is a Quality of Life Grant awarded by the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

Finding Your Path assists individuals living with paralysis with finding and identifying their career path through virtual career exploration modules, work readiness training, work internships/job shadowing, and self-advocacy training. Participants will receive resume assistance, interview training, post-secondary counseling, and workplace skills training.
