Join us for the first in a series of vocational trainings called Soft Skills to Pay the Bills. In our first topic, participants will engage in a number of activities that revolve around the importance of communication in the workplace. We’ll discuss the importance of being specific with our messaging, review how communication changes in different settings and with different people, hone in on nonverbal communication and the way it can make or break our interactions with others, learn about how communication is a two-way process and how being unclear or vague can fuel conflict, and end on how communication’s role in ensuring we understand instructions given to us. By participating in this training, participants will have increased confidence in communicating effectively at home, with their peers, and in the workplace!
