Basic Classifying Money Skills – Introduction

During these sessions, participants will work on basic classifying money skills with a small group of peers. They will be classifying different coins and bills and identifying the value of each one. Once these skills are learned, through active involvement, participants will begin to use their phone or calculator to add and subtract currency amounts. This will help them develop the ability to discern the appropriate currency required for purchases and verify that they give and receive accurate change. By mastering these monetary abilities, participants will enhance their independence in the community when exchanging money.
