Participants will learn about different communication styles and cover effective strategies within assertive communication. We’ll pair this with an overview of the decision making/problem solving process, using practice examples to check for understanding on how to: identify the problem/decision, identify steps, and think through potential solutions or results from making decisions. We’ll tie in how self-accommodations can provide supports during the decision-making process and how to trouble shoot barriers they may experience when navigating their disabilities. By participating in this training, participants will be better prepared for decisions they will be responsible for in adulthood and better able to self-advocate in the workplace.
